Welcome to Nurtured By Nature, located in the heart of the Shuswap. We service you and our community by providing products that strengthen the attachment between families and our planet. We think that caring for our earth begins with caring for ourselves and our loved ones. From natural products such as, organic cotton women’s wear (also great for maternity) to plastic free lunch bags and storage containers. From pregnancy to preschoolers, we have all you need to nurture yourself and your family naturally.
We believe it’s unethical to support unfair labour practices, so we strive to only carry products that support sustainable living. We also believe in supporting independant business and the importance of supporting our local economy. We carry a wide variety of local and Canadian products. We’ve carefully selected items that have proven to be of the highest quality and long lasting.
You can find resources for family services as well as a lending library in our retail location. There are also breast pump rentals and friendly advice from Holly, our breastfeeding counsellor/certified doula.

Our shop, Nurtured By Nature was born in September 2008, when we, Holly Malashewsky and Valerie McMillen, a mother-daughter team joined forces. We felt that there was a strong need for all natural parenting products in our community. Our motivation is to educate families so they can make informed choices when it comes to the care of their children and the planet. Customers appreciate the friendly service as well as the attention to detail. There are no compromises, everything in our shop has been selected to promote healthy living.
We’re continuously growing, and adding more inventory to the shop. We aim to have everything you’re looking for. If we don’t carry a product you want, please contact us and we’ll do our best to get it for you. We believe in establishing great relationships with our customers and we’re happy to place a special or custom order.
